Speaker - Amber E Budden
Biography
Amber Budden is the Associate University Librarian for Digital Strategies at the University of California Santa Barbara Library. She holds a PhD in Behavioral Ecology and conducted in ecological research and teaching at UC Berkeley, University of Toronto and York University before transitioning to the areas of open access and open data. More recently she is collaborating on work design to provide services and structure for open source projects within the UC network. Amber is an open science facilitator, community manager and data literacy trainer.
Before moving to the library, Amber lead the Learning Hub and short course activities for the National Center for Ecological Analysis and Synthesis (UCSB) and co-lead DataONE and the Arctic Data Center, two organizations focussed on preservation, discovery, and access of research data.
